Welcome to the first workshop of Teen Shakespeare Players!
In Summer 2026, Merely Players will host our first Teen Shakespeare Workshop. Over the course of 5 days, a small group of young people will dig into scenes from William Shakespeare, culminating in a performance for family and friends. Students will perform, costume, and create sets and props- while making friends, learning, and having fun!
All students who have completed grades 7-12, whether they have experience with theatre, Shakespeare, or neither.
Co-directors Jen Lewis and Han Taub both hold Masters degrees in Theatre Education from Emerson College and have decades of experience directing and teaching adults and youth. The process is based in community-building and personal expression, encouraging students to explore equity concepts and strengthen their artistic voices.
We are committed to welcoming students of all backgrounds, including all genders, races, religions, abilities*, socioeconomic status, and immigrant status. With advanced notice, we are glad to provide accomodations for many physical, social, and mental health special needs, but *unfortunately our space requires participants to walk up stairs. If the cost would keep your student from participating, please email for information on available scholarships.
